Bridges
A bridge is two or more crowns linked together holding a replacement tooth to bridge a gap. Bridges are fixed to the teeth adjacent to the gap and are not removable.
Some bridges are made of a metal framework overlaid with ceramic. The latest generation of metal-free bridges are very strong and extremely aesthetic.
Bridges range in size from replacing a single tooth to replacing multiple, but not all, missing teeth in a whole jaw.
What does the process involve?
After the consultation and agreed treatment a diagnostic wax-up is sometimes made, particularly if extensive bridges are to be used, to show you the anticipated final outcome of treatment.
The teeth adjacent to the space of the missing tooth/teeth are prepared. Impressions are made and a temporary bridge fitted.
At the next appointment the temporary bridge is removed, the definitive bridge tried in and checked. When everything is correct the bridge is cemented in place.
Testimonial
"At my first visit I was given a clear choice of treatment and then a detailed plan with costs. I found the atmosphere very friendly and any questions I had were explained very clearly to me. My first impression was that the team work between Andrew and Rachel was extremely efficient and professional and my trust and confidence grew with each visit.
I was made to feel at ease the whole way through the treatment and this was very important to me. My implants were done with very little pain and I am now very pleased and happy with the final result."
